WIT reviewed the financial, resourcing and technology IT Vision & Strategy and designed processes within a new Target Operating Model.

Services

  1. Assessed the suitability of current data classifications and repositories
  2. Identified gaps, deficiencies and areas for improvement
  3. Reviewed information management practices across the entire business
  4. Conducted interviews with key stakeholders

WIT discovered that while the client’s data classifications and repositories were generally functional, there were several areas that could be improved:

Inconsistent naming standards: Different departments were using varying naming conventions, making it difficult to locate and manage data.
Outdated classification levels: The current classification levels did not fully reflect the business’s evolving needs.
Inefficient data storage: Data was scattered across multiple repositories, leading to inefficiencies and potential security risks.

Outcome
To address these issues, WIT recommended the following:

  • Creation and implementation of naming standards and data storage policies for improved data organisation and management.
  • Update the classification policy to include data sharing guidelines and Implement encryption to support better data security and compliance.
  • Maintain a duality of data repositories for increased operational efficiency
  • Invest in structuring the shared Microsoft SharePoint repository for improved collaboration and productivity across the teams.
